How much is the Smartika Application?

The Smartika Mobile App is available for free download from the iTunes App Store and Google Play.

Which mobile platforms does Smartika support?

Smartika currently supports iOS 8.0 or later and Android 4.1 or later. The Smartika Mobile App is available for free download from the iTunes App Store and Google Play.

Can I control my products remotely?

Yes. You can access, control, and automate your Smartika connected products from the Smartika Mobile Application wherever you are, as long as you are connected to the Internet or mobile data.

Does it cost me anything to control my products remotely?

No. You don’t need to worry about user fees.

Can I access Smartika from my computer, mobile web- or browser-based platform?

Not at this time. We currently support apps for iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Android Mobile and Android tablets.

Are Smartika connected products compatible with Apple HomeKit?

Not at this time. Please stay tuned for further updates.

How much battery power does the Smartika Mobile App use?

In general, the Smartika Mobile Application doesn’t require any more or less battery power than other mobile applications.

The Smartika Mobile Application has a feature called “geo-fencing” that allows products to turn on automatically when you get close to home and turn off when you leave. Since this feature uses the GPS on your phone to tell your products when to turn on or off, it uses more battery power. If your phone battery is low or you wish to conserve battery usage, turn off geo-fencing for Home and Away scenes (the Smartika Application needs to be running in the background for this to work).

Can I use other icons pictures than the pre-loaded icon picture options?

Currently, you can only use the icon-pictures available in the Smartika Application.

How do I create a group that would contain multiple devices?

Note: When creating a group, all devices and light controller should be physically in the same room. To control multiple devices from multiple rooms you should setup SCENES within the application.

To create a group of devices, a room must contain more than one device.

Select one device into that room, then select “Edit” or “Crayon Edit-Icon” and press the “Group with other devices” button.

The list of other devices into that room will appear, select the desired devices that you wish to group and then press the “Group with x devices”.

Then you can (Name your device) by creating a name that will be used for the groups of devices, select “GO” or “ON” or “SAVE” to complete your work.

What is I see one or all devices within a Group are showing as OFFLINE?

A device can be OFFLINE because of the following situations:

  1. The device is not powered Check if the wall-switch is set to OFF
  2. The Hub could be OFFLINE as no longer powered
  3. If the distance between your device and your Hub or other Smartika devices has increased, perhaps the range is to fare or you now have a new potential interference (REFER TO HUB INTERFERENCES). Note that the more Smartika devices you install, the stronger your Mesh will become within your home.
  4. If you re-synched your device in conventional mode with a light controller, this will cause the device to become OFFLINE.
How many devices can a light controller control?

One light controller device can control 19 devices within a group.

How do I set up multiple devices on one light controller?

You create a group with devices, then you select your new group, then select “Edit” or “Crayon Edit-Icon” then choose the desired light controller, then select “Add Light controller” button and then SAVE your work.

Can I use 2 or more remotes on one device?

Yes, you can use multiple light controllers on one device. Select the lighting device, then select “Edit” or “Crayon Edit-Icon” then choose the desired light controller, then select “Add Light controller” button and then SAVE your work.

Can I use multiple light controllers within one room?

Yes, you have 2 options:

  1. You can use multiple light controllers on one device in one room. Select the lighting device, then select “Edit” or “Crayon Edit-Icon” then choose the desired light controller, then select “Add Light controller” button and then SAVE your work.
  2. You can use multiple light controllers in one group within one room. You create a group for that room, you select the group, then select “Edit” or “Crayon Edit-Icon” then choose the desired light controller(s), then select “Add Light controller(s)” button and then SAVE your work.
(Conventional Vs. Smart Mode) What happens if a light controller is synched with one device yet grouped with different devices into the application?

Smart Mode:

1. When the hub is operational, the light controller will only control the group with devices that contains the light controller.
2. If the hub has no internet, then the light controller will only control the lighting device or group that is synched to it. 
3. If the hub is not operational (No power). Nothing works.

Conventional Mode:

- The light controller controls the paired light device (only one).
What if my Light controller no longer works?

Your battery is dead.

Or, if you re-synched your light controller in conventional mode to another device, this will cause the Light controller to become de-synched within the Application.

What is I see a device that is showing as OFFLINE?

What are Scenes?

Within the Smartika Mobile App, you can create “scenarios” to control multiple Smartika connected products with one tap. For example, a “Morning” Scene could be created to turn on your kitchen, bathroom and bedroom lights with dimming at 50% and a warm ambiance, all at once.

How do I set-up a scene for one room?

Select the “star-icon scene button”, then select “Add” or “Plus-Icon”, then select “Select your rooms” or “select your devices” in order to select on device or all of your desired devices for your scene;

Then you can choose a picture icon for your scene, the create a name for your scene;

Then create actions for all selected scene devices into the scene like the following options:

ON or OFF per device, Brightness and temperature per device and then you SAVE your work per device;

Then you SAVE your scene creation.

How do I set-up a scene for multiple rooms?

Select the “star-icon scene button”, then select “Add” or “Plus-Icon”, then select “Select your rooms” or “select your devices” in order to select on device or all of your desired devices for your scene;

Then you can choose a picture icon for your scene, the create a name for your scene;

Then create actions for all selected scene devices into the scene like the following options:

Then you SAVE your scene creation.

Why does Smartika have an Account Name and Account email?

The account name fields are optional. The email is required (with a password) for connecting to your Smartika Mobile Application Account (security and support reason).

Can I have multiple users on my Smartika account or grant access to my products?

Currently, our app can manage only one account per Hub. However, this account can be used on multiple mobile devices.

What do I do id I forget my Account password?

When in the Smartika Login screen, There’s a “forgot your password” button that you can select,

Then you must enter the original email of the account that registered the Hub,

Then you receive an email with a link to enter a new password.

Then you can write (on safe website) your new password on the website and validate.

What do I do if I no longer want my friends to used my Smartika Account?

Smartika does not recommend sharing your Account passwords with friends and neighbors,

- Only with A trustworthy person

You simply need to change your account password by following these steps:

- Go to “Account”, then select your hidden password code, 
- A change password option will appear for you to confirm your password and enter a new password.
- This password will be active after your next logout then login
What happens if my ex-friend changes my Smartika account password?

You are responsible for not sharing your Smartika passwords,

You should contact your ex-friend to make arrangements.

You can also report the issue with your local authorities (Police Report)

How many Smartika Accounts can I create at home?

Only one Smartika Accounting is required to control all of your home’s Smartika devices. However, you can use multiple mobile devices (tablets and smartphone on iOS and/or Android)

What happens if I delete an account from one Android or iOS account?

If you have multiple telephone or tablet devices with the Smartika Account, you will still be able to login into the Smartika Account from the other telephone or table devices.

If you only have Smartika installed on one telephone or table devices, then you will simply have to re-create a new account and reset all Smartika devices from your home (New Installation)

What happens if I lose my phone that has access to my Smartika Account?

Smartika does not recommend that you lose your phone or table with your Smartika Account!

You simply need to get another telephone or tablet device and install the Smartika application, then access your old account by entering your email address and pass word. -We recommend that you immediately change your old password if your lost phone is not retrieved.

What happens if I logout of the Smartika Account?

You will not receive phone notifications selected in the Notifications screen. However, you will receive still the emails on the registered email to your Smartika account.

What is Home location used for in Smartika?

Home location is used for the schedule/Automation for Sunset and Sunrise features.

Home location is used for scenes like AWAY and HOME. If you activate your geo-location radius setup this will determine when you receive notifications when AWAY from Home or on the way HOME.
-Within the Smartika Mobile App, you can create ‘‘scenarios’’ to control multiple Smartika connected products based on HOME & AWAY.

What does the Scenes “Away” notification button do?

You can setup the “Away” scene based on Home location geo-location.

If you activate your geo-location radius setup this will determine when you receive notifications when AWAY from Home.
Within the Smartika Mobile App, you can create ‘‘scenarios’’ to control multiple Smartika connected products based on AWAY.

What does the Scenes “Home” notification button do?

You can setup the “Home” scene based on Home location geo-location.

If you activate your geo-location radius setup this will determine when you receive notifications when Arriving at your HOME.

Within the Smartika Mobile App, you can create ‘‘scenarios’’ to control multiple Smartika connected products based on HOME.

What does the Scenes “Confirm activation” notification button do?

It allows the user to choose if he wants to activate automatically the Scenes (receive the notifications to notify the user that the scenes have been activated) or he wants to confirm the activation with the notifications (with the button YES or NO in order to activate the Scene).

What does the Sensors “Alarm notification” notification do?
  • Low Battery
  • Test alarm (provided by the test button at the bottom of the device)
  • Leak Alarm, water leak detection.
What does the light controller “Alarm notification” notification do?
  • Low Battery
What is the Hub MAC address?

The mac address is your unique hub identifier number. This identifier allows customer service to provide a better support to the user.

The physical number will be located under your hub or in your application located in Account, Hub.

Can I use the widget feature?

Yes, you can use the widgets feature on our iOS & Android mobiles devices.

You have two possibilites of widgets :

  • All lights
  • Scenes
